Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has approved the master plan for the Jebel Ali Beach Development Project, which aims to transform a 6.6km stretch of beach into a high-quality recreational destination. The project places emphasis on environmental conservation and protecting local wildlife. This initiative reflects Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision to create world-class public beaches in Dubai. In addition, Sheikh Hamdan has approved the architectural designs that seamlessly combine aesthetics and functionality to accommodate a variety of beach activities.

With a focus on creating spaces with plenty of beaches, open spaces and green areas for recreation to enhance the wellbeing of residents and visitors, Sheikh Hamdan highlighted Dubai's commitment to enhancing the urban experience.
The Jebel Ali Beach project is part of a broader plan to expand Dubai's public beaches by 400%, creating new and improved beaches with leisure, sports and investment facilities, as outlined in the Urban Master Plan Dubai 2040 .
Mattar Al Tayer, Commissioner General for Infrastructure, Urban Planning and Welfare, highlighted the importance of the project at Jebel Ali Wildlife Sanctuary. The plan includes a 5km sandy beach at Nakheel and a 1.6km mangrove beach at Dubai Municipality. These areas will enhance the ecosystem and provide unique visitor experiences.
Key features include a 2km swimming beach, a 2.5km diving area, viewing platforms, children's playgrounds and sports facilities. The infrastructure will provide seamless access with a two-lane road, parking for 1,000 vehicles and tracks for cycling and running.
The beach will have three different zones:
The project's architectural design is inspired by natural marine geometry and uses local materials. Investment opportunities include restaurants, leisure centers and commercial kiosks to meet the needs of beachgoers.
Dubai's broader beach projects include Al Mamzar and Jumeirah 1 beaches, with a total length of 5.7 km. The aim of these projects is to transform the beaches into modern recreational areas, with areas for night swimming, cycling and jogging tracks, and extensive health and service facilities.
Dubai plans to improve service levels at public beaches by 400%, increase the number of beaches where night swimming is possible by 56%, and significantly increase the number of cycling and jogging routes. The beaches will be equipped with advanced technology services, AI-driven lifesaving systems and comprehensive monitoring for safety.
Dubai's commitment to creating world-class public beaches is evident in the Jebel Ali Beach Development Project. With a focus on sustainability, innovation and visitor experience, the project aims to make Dubai a leading global destination for beachgoers and eco-tourists.
